Cabrera, whose father Basilia is manager of the Tigers' Gulf Coast League team, emerged as a sophomore as a strong hitter for the Dreadnaughts in his first year on varsity and was key to the team's run to the Class 6A state tournament. He batted .284 with two home runs and 17 RBIs during the season and saw spot duty on the mound. He could see more pitching duties next season as he has been clocked at 93 mph.
